Charles Wayne (Skip) Achuff Jr. Annual Memorial Stalwart of Steeplechase Award

Nominees for the award represent the sport of steeplechase with professionalism, integrity, and dedication; uphold the rules of the sport; and prioritize the safety of horses and jockeys. The winner receives a one-time cash prize of $1,000.

Potential recipients are nominated by their peers for performance in 2024. Petitioners for nominees must complete an application and submit it by February 28, 2025. The Achuff family will select from the nominees in March. The winner will be announced and awarded at the Radnor Hunt Races on May 17, 2025.

INTRODUCING the Steeplechase Living Legacy Fund

▪️ Created and managed by the Temple Gwathmey Steeplechase Foundation, the Living Legacy Fund has been created to fund large projects for the steeplechase community that inspire, encourage interest in and regulate the sport of steeplechase racing.
▪️ Fund distribution will be determined by the Presidents of the Temple Gwathmey Steeplechase Foundation, the National Steeplechase Association, the Race Chairman’s Committee and the Steeplechase Owners and Trainers Association.
▪️ All donations and bequests to this publicly supported organization are deductible within the limits of current federal and state tax law. As a 501(c)3 organization, TGSF is exempt from federal income taxation.
